Design TV shows are having a big influence on homeowners and home buyers, driving them to get more choosy with their home style. Designers Joanna Gaines, Hilary Farr, and the Property Brothers have become household names. Who would you pick to transform your home? Porch.com, a home remodeling website, polled about 1,000 people to find out.

Overall, Chip and Joanna Gaines of the former hit HGTV show “Fixer Upper” were the most-sought designers, followed by the “Property Brothers” Drew and Jonathan Scott and Ty Pennington, of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and “Trading Spaces” fame.

Overall, respondents said modern design styles with clean lines and sleek surfaces were the clear favorite home decorating style, the survey showed. Nearly half of respondents surveyed named modern design as their top preference. The second and third most popular home styles were farmhouse and rustic home decor, respectively.
